Bangkok, Thailand
I have been in Bangkok for a day now. I am staying in a Kho Sanh guesthouse smack-dab in the middle of the world's most stereotypical backpacker ghetto. I would already be on the road south were it not for my malfunctioning camera that needs very professional help. It is the weekend here and the Canon corporate headquarters will not be open until tomorrow so in the meantime I am seeing Asia's "City of Angels".
Bangkok a surprisingly modern change from Vietnam and Cambodia. Truthfully, I feel like I am at home in my regular Starbucks routine, although that now feels strangely foreign. I am glad to be back in a world where prices are fixed, people speak English, and the farm animals are on the farm. That's just Bangkok though and I will soon be returning to rural SE Asia on my way to Singapore.
Today I am going to see the Grand Palace with a Canadian named Lisa. Should be fun, but I will have nothing to show in terms of photographs because the camera is definitely out of commission.
