Bangkok to Turtle Island-
The first time I checked my email in days it was full of messages from people wondering why I had dropped off of the planet. The ride from Bangkok to Chumphon took 6 days and in that time I was very much out of contact. I don't have any colorful stories besides four days of smoke-choked highway riding and 2.5 days of being partially lost in the Isthmus of Kra. Had a terrific time when I got to the secondary highway that hugs the coast on the last few days. The landscape was wrinkled with hills and passes which made for more sweat, but I didn't miss the smog at all. Also, I have to call my athlete of a brother, Scott and tell him that he needs to watch his back. I've dropped over 15 pounds which either means I'm getting in shape or I'm wasting away and need to eat more Wheaties. I feel really good and I have a ton of energy though, so watch out Scottie!

I arrived on Ko Tau today by the catamaran from Chumpon and am living the dream in a bungalow right on the beach. I lashed my hammock to the porch and I sat there all day with my ice tea in hand talking to my beautiful topless English neighbors. We are just about to go watch some English league soccer so I am off.

Tomorrow (after my pre-dawn bike ride) I am making my arrangements to dive a shipwreck called the Unicorn, but I need additional Scuba training because it is deeper than most recreational dives. I'll be breathing oxygen enriched air on a few dives and also learning how to deal with nitrogen narcosis at depth. Should be fun!

I should also let people know that I am seriously considering cutting my trip short and staying in Singapore when I get there for some job hunting. I have had many priceless experiences since I left and I know that I have been lucky to learn some things that will help me a great deal in the future. But, I am getting excited to start my career and chase down a few new opportunities in Asia. Anyway, there is a lot of world out here and I want to save some of it for later too!
